Handmade from banana fiber

ADARI uses fibers from the layered stems of banana trees.

According to Soeji, only old, dying banana trees are used for this purpose. The fibers thus get a second life as a strong natural raw material for handmade home accessories.

After collection, the fibers are dried in the sun for about a week. During this natural drying process, the characteristic warm brown color develops.

Subsequently, the individual fiber strips are rolled into sturdy strands of about 6 mm thick and hand-processed into the round shape of ADARI.

Special cotton detail

The natural wickerwork is finished with a decorative pattern of cotton ribbons and cords.

The light color of the cotton creates a beautiful contrast with the dark banana fibers and gives the wall basket its recognizable boho look.

On the back, there is a practical loop that allows ADARI to be easily hung on a hook or nail.

Prefer not on the wall? Due to its shallow shape, you can also use ADARI as a decorative bowl.

ADARI is handmade in Java, Indonesia.

Soeji states that they work with local production partners who prioritize fair wages and good working conditions. The products are made by adult and experienced artisans.

According to the supplier, no harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Since the various production steps are largely carried out by hand, relatively little machine production is required.

Due to the use of natural materials and manual production, color, shape, and dimensions may vary slightly. These small variations are part of the artisanal character and make each ADARI unique.
