Main material: Rattan

Our coasters are made from plant fibers. Therefore, they smell and feel wonderfully natural.

Rattan palms usually grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and extracting many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow quickly without chemical additives, must be cut regularly and can be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely durable and abundantly available material.

When selecting our local producers, we value fair wages and good working conditions. Only experienced and adult artisans work in the companies from which we purchase our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. As all work steps are carried out by hand, there are hardly any greenhouse gas emissions during the production process.
