Why vegetable-tanned leather?
Vegetable tanning uses natural tanning agents instead of the usual chrome process. Tanning takes longer but results in strong, durable leather that ages beautifully. According to Cooper & Quint, the leather contains no harmful substances such as chrome VI or PCP and is biodegradable.
